Vice PresidentBerend van Roijen, {officeName}, leads research efforts and corporate credit analysis at the Bethesda office of Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management, within the Asset & Wealth Management business of Goldman Sachs. He works closely with advisers to review and discuss asset allocation, security selection, valuation, industry trends and macroeconomic events. His team explores and engages in a range of investment styles and strategies to achieve wealth management goals.
Previously, he worked for several years at Credit Suisse in New York within the Private Bank, where he developed new and strengthened existing relationships with ultra-high-net-worth clients to continue rapid assets under management and revenue growth. He controlled trading for separately managed accounts, including a broadly implemented discretionary value strategy.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Finance from Tulane University, Berend began his career as an analyst with Bloomberg L.P. on the Bloomberg Dividend Forecasting Product (BDVD) team. Within the BDVD team, Berend served as the sole analyst covering the North America Financial sector. He has also obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Berend loves the outdoors and lives in Virginia with his wife and two dogs. He’s still working on his golf game.
