Vice President, Wealth Advisor, HoustonMichael “Mike” Ryan, Houston, primarily focuses on advising clients in the areas of investment management, retirement, insurance, college funding, and estate planning at the Houston - North Loop office of Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management, within the Asset & Wealth Management business of Goldman Sachs.
He began his financial planning career in 2002 after spending 25 years in a variety of engineering and business positions within the oil industry. Mike’s oil industry career started as an operations engineer with Getty Oil Company. He worked in various supervisory positions within Getty and subsequently within Texaco following Texaco’s acquisition of Getty. In addition to technical positions with Texaco, Mike served as Manager of Public and Government Affairs.
Mike graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and from the University of New Orleans with a Master of Business Administration. He is an active member of the national and local chapters of the Financial Planning Association.
Additionally, Mike is active in the local community and charitable organizations. He currently serves on the Board of Unity of Houston church and the Board of the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival. In the past, he served in leadership roles within the Executive and Professional Association of Houston (EPAH), the Bellaire Chamber of Commerce, Society of Petroleum Engineers, The Assistance Fund and Legacy Community Health.
