Doug Wheat, CFP®
Vice President, Senior Wealth Advisor, HolyokeDoug Wheat, Holyoke, guides clients to make informed financial decisions at the Holyoke office of Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management, within the Asset & Wealth Management business of Goldman Sachs. He is committed to helping clients with their financial goals by developing a comprehensive financial plan and choosing appropriate investments.
Prior to joining what is now Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management, Doug started and ran his own firm, High Ridge Financial Planning. Doug began his career building financial projections for large-scale environmental projects for CDM Smith and he also developed alternative energy projects with International Fuel Cells.
Doug received his BA in Economics from Hobart College and his MBA at the Yale School of Management. He also earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Management at the Yale School of the Environment. Doug is helping to build the next generation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals by sharing his knowledge in retirement planning as an adjunct professor at Elms College.
Doug lives in Florence with his wife, Amy, and two sons. He has a passion for the outdoors and loves biking, hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, and gardening. Doug is an active member of the Northampton area community. He has served as board chair of United Way of Hampshire County, Northampton Soccer Club, and the Great Swamp Watershed Association. He is currently an active committee member and volunteer for several organizations.
